POSITION SUMMARY:

211 LA is increasingly recognized as a technology leader within the social services industry. Our technological roadmap is expanding and your contribution as part of the development team will include the opportunity to work with a team of like-minded individuals in pursuit of a modern, innovative suite of services that sets a new standard for information and referral service delivery. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manage projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure the project is progressing at a constant rate which meets project timeline.
  • Work primarily with the in-house development team, utilizing JIRA for task management.
  • Work with external development team(s) on a need-to basis.
  • Attend daily developer standups and ensure daily scrum well goals are defined and acted upon.
  • Work with each developer to hold them accountable for each task in the Sprint and provide a brief report or documentation if and when a certain task is falling behind.
  • Utilize Confluence to document development and project decisions.
  • Ensure project timeline is up-to-date and perform weekly risk assessment of the project.
  • Communicate with the Technical Project Manager to report project status and expectations, including but not limited to: timeline, scope change, technical challenges and decisions.
  • Follow and contribute to the discussion of best practices and release cycle requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) for features of existing and new systems.
  • Manage ongoing technical support for public-facing systems.
  • Performs other duties and assignments in accordance with established Agency mission and values.

                                                                                                                                                                                     

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical skills.
  • A robust understanding of technical language such as HTML5, CCS3, JavaScript, Apache/PHP, React and Node.js, including basic understanding of database structure and query.
  • Hands-on experience with application development in order to better understand the perspectives of developers.
  • User interface design experience and keen eye for aesth
  • Familiarity with RESTful and JSON data services AP
  • Experience utilizing Github, JIRA and Confluen
  • Experience with leading team meeting such as scrum or sprint planning. Certification is a plus, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Experience in creating flowcharts and diagrams using external tools such as LucidChart.
  • Understanding of system infrastructure and DevOps operations.
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings; collaborative team work.

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

As a 211 LA County Technical Project Coordinator, you will regularly be required to work at a desk and work at a computer for extended periods of time. You will be regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  You will be frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.  You will be frequently required to walk and sit and occasionally required to stand. You will be regularly required to work in an indoor climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Specific vision abilities are required by this position to include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. You will be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. You may be occasionally required to drive to locations to attend meetings.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in delivering advanced multi-tier, distributed web applications with appealing and highly responsive user interfaces.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is remote, you must have:

  • Solid internet connection (50 MBPS)
  • Quiet space without distractions
  • Must be able to work independently and get the job done

 

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual salary is commensurate with prior experience, education, and abilities.
