POSITION SUMMARY:

As a 211 LA Technical Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with the Technical Project Manager to provide product and project management for 211 LA’s digital solutions projects. Your responsibilities will include working with internal and external teams to communicate timelines, set expectations, and oversee the projects’ progress; documenting and communicating decisions and milestones; maintaining and evolving the software development process, to enhance the product, with an eye towards improving quality and agility. 

 

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Oversee projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure they are progressing at a constant rate which meets their timeline.
  • Work with each developer to hold them accountable for each task, and provide a brief report or documentation if and when a certain task is falling behind.
  • Work with external development contractors to ensure timely delivery of software assignments.
  • Work with the CTO and system administration to coordinate infrastructure updates to ensure the system architecture meets the present and future technology needs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine business requirements to advance the development of new and existing products, used internally and externally.
  • Work with the internal Business Operations Team(s) and Client Services Team(s) to coordinate a successful transition of our existing clients from the current to the new software application(s).
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence to appropriately document new tasks, development decisions, and project milestones.
  • Ensure project timeline is up-to-date and perform weekly risk assessment of the project.
  • Communicate with the Technical Project Manager to report project statuses and expectations, including but not limited to: timeline, scope change, technical challenges, and decisions.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) for features of existing and new systems.
  • Perform other duties and assignments in accordance with established Agency mission, goals, and values.

                                                                                                                                                                                     

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask; oversee multiple concurrent active projects in various stages of development.
  • Ability to facilitate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings; collaborative teamwork.
  • Self-starter; willing to proactively research and resolve questions independently.
  • Familiarity with RESTful and JSON data services AP
  • Experience utilizing Github, JIRA, and Confluen
  • Experience in creating flowcharts and diagrams using external tools such as LucidChart.
  • Hands-on experience with application development to better understand the perspectives of the developers.
  • A working understanding of the full web technology stacks (e.g. HTTP, cookies, asset loading/caching) and the principles of development from front end (using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and popular MVC frameworks) to middle tier/back end (using Apache/PHP, JavaEE, or Node.js, including interacting with SQL/NoSQL/PostgreSQL databases).

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 1-3 years of relevant work experience in delivering advanced multi-tier, distributed web applications with appealing and highly responsive user interfaces.

 

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual salary is commensurate with prior experience, education, and abilities.
